Q.

Hello dr. My daughter is 5 month old. Her birth weight was 2.300gm and now she is 4.500gm. She has gained only 2.200gm which is very less in 5 months. kindly suggest me what to do.She is on breastfeed as well as cow milk and doesn't like formula milk

A. Ideally, babies should double the birth weight by 5th month and as per this, your baby is doing fine. Now there should be approximately 200-240 gms weight gain per week. You can also intruding semi solid foods in her diet like lentil puree, mashed banana, apple and pear puree, mixed vegetable soup, khichdi, ragi and sooji porridge, etc. It will help in increasing the weight.
