A. Hello Doctor. Urine RE report shows pus cell 1-2/hpf and a few epithelial cells and urine culture shows E.Coli (<1000 cfu/ml) according to recent reports done on 28th june. Sporidex has been prescribed for 6 days at bedtime and from 7th day onwards Taxim o forte twice daily for 6 days. On 8th day of medication doctor asked for MCUG test. Is it necessary do do this tests? Is there anything to worry about. How long will it take for my baby to get completely cured. I am very much worried. Doctor also said to do DMSA after 4 months. Is this illness going to take so long and so painful to heal. Please help. Both me and my family is tensed and upset to hear all this happening to our little girl.

A. kindly go for urine culture which will tell which type of bacteria is present and then you can go for specific medicine and that will help in decreasing the infection of urinary tract infection

A. If It has not been cured as of now then just make sure that you know it is not a UTI because certain times UTI takes a longer time to read than usual so kindly re-consult your doctor once again and if needed then go for a different set of medications for the child because it is not very difficult to get rid of it but it can be sometimes more than usual which takes a little longer time to heal completely
