Q.
hello dr..my 1yr baby fall down from the bed and got hurt in back portion of head... little bit swallow up and it's paining....what should we do now

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Any Fall injury specially head injury needs to be assessed properly . In any such case certain symptoms needs to be checked like loss of consciousness reccurrent vomiting or any abnormal moment or convulsions . Such case needs immediate medical intervention as there could be some internal injury . Otherwise application of ice locally to reduce the swelling and pain can be done along with some analgesic like paracetamol. Recurrent fall injury for a child shoiuld be avoided as it can lead to some chronic manifestatiotns occasionally . Also teeth injury should be rule out in any such case which is commonly associated and can be easily missed out most of the time .

Right now if the pain age too much and child is crying that you can go ahead with giving paracetamol to the child that is going to help in reduction of the pain and will help in making a child sleep but tomorrow you will have to get it checked with your doctor that’s very very important
