Q.

Hello doctors, we got a 9 month vaccination for my baby yesterday. from last night he is suffering from fever. It was expected that the doctor said that he may get a fever and he suggested to give 1 ML of Calpol syrus every 4 hours once. But now it has reached 102.4 degrees fever. please could you suggest what medicine I should give ?

A. the first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having. give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food. keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever armpit temperature of hundred or smore is considered as fever to body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperatures water. higher medicines (ibugesic / meftal-p) whether required or not will be told by the doctor.
