Hello doctor, What is the difference between stage 1 and 2 formula. Does changing from stage 1 to 2 cause gas in babies. I have been giving Similac IQ+ to my baby since his birth and now since he is 6 months old I have started stage 2 for him and he seems to be very gassy since then. It has been only 8-10 hrs. He was good in the morning but he started feeling very uncomfortable and passed lot of gas and was crying alot as he passed urine during night.

But no need to worry
Burp ur baby properly after each and every feed for atleast 10 min or till baby take 4 burp.
breast feed /formula feed ur baby till 6months of age
After 6months of age u can start with dal rice water,
Moong dal puree
Rice kanji
Spinach and dal mash
Tomato soup
mashed fruit
Apple puree
Bloiled mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes
Add 1item every 3rd day
Give 2-3 serve in a day time
Continue breast feed /formula feed as a main source of food till 9 months of age.

MrinalMom of a 7 yr 9 m old boy7 years agoA. The composition of formula changes from stage 1 to stage 2. Yes it is a little hard to digest as compared to stage1 formula. But the baby should get used to it in some time. Make sure to use anti-colic feeding bottle and try massage baby's tummy in clockwise and anti-clockwise direction. U can also use mamaearth's gas release roll on.
