hello doctor, Veer is 7 weeks old. his belly button is dried up now but looks swollen. is it normal? how much time will it take to flatten

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy3 years agoA. the child is having umbilical hernia which is very common in children and goes away by maximum 2 years of age. with growing agfe it regresses and goes inside it does not require any intervention or treatment before 2 years if it is non complicated. meet your doctor once who will tell you whether any intervention or wait and watch policy is required.

Vritika AroraMom of 2 children3 years agoA. yes it will take 2 to three months to flattered the belly button completely. do not worry. just keep a check on weight gain and pee count of the baby..if the belly button looks bulges even after 2 months then show to the pediatrician once.
