Q.

hello Doctor,my son is having fever from past 3 days and fever is occurring in interval of 5 to 6 hours after giving paracetamol. his pediatrician has given azythromycin syrup for 3 days.after completing the that also fever is not reducing. by his urine analysis Dr told he is having mild UTI. please suggest what to do am really worried about his fever

A. hello Doctor, is it required to change the antibiotics or shall I continue the same medicine. how many days it will take to reduce the fever.

A. Fever is when the temperature of the body goes above 99 degree fahrenheit and the safest medicine in such situation is paracetamol which can be repeated cafter 6 hours again ivdf required in a proper dose . Alternative medicine can also be tried if required like ibuprofen and mefenamic acid preparations. cold sponging of the whole body with tap water can be beneficial too to bring the temperature down .
