Hello doctor, my son is almost 3 months old now and he has cold problem since last 2 months.When we give him medicine, he remains fine, but when we do not give him medicine, he gets cold again and his nose is also blocked, tell me some remedies so that he will be completely fine and his nose is not blocked.And please suggest some equipment to clean the nose

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. this can occurs due to weather changes and temperature variations or simple cold and rarely infection.
kindly give nasal saline drops (nasoclear /nasivion s)every three hourly and since it is a salt water/saline water it does not have any side effects and can be given again and again for nasal blockage and respiratory cough.
it will dissolve mucus in nose and throat.
for fever and pain givre paracetamol.
anti-cold medicines at this age have got side effects so can be given only after medical consultation.
try to prevent temperature variations around the child and your can also give indirect steam inhalation and if there is no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy2 years agoA. A bulb syringe is used to remove mucus from your baby's mouth or nose. A stuffy nose can make it hard for your baby to breathe. This can make your baby fussy, especially when he/she tries to eat or sleep. Suctioning makes it easier for your baby to breathe and eat.
