Hello Doctor, My son is 20 months now. He is having loose motions from yesterday. He also had fever last night for which I gave Calpol twice with a gap of 6hrs. But loose motion has not stopped. Kindly advise

Loose motion are most of the time infective where it is associated with fever and vomiting and its known as gastroenteritis where symptomatic treatment along with management for dehydration is required if loose motions are associated with foul smell mucous high grade fever than it could be bacterials infezction which needs antibiotics treatment

NikithaMom of 2 children3 years agoA. hello give more of fluids and also give enterogermina and also it is better to check with your doctor and your doctor will be able to guide you better on examination of the same and advise you accordingly which is better and also safe and fluids help maintain hydration
