Q.

hello doctor, my son is 1 year old.. i have started giving him cow milk .. what is the best time i can give him cow milk and how much quantity i should give per day ..

A. Cow's milk should be given to the baby only after completion of 1 year of age because the protein and fat in cow's milk is hard to digest before that and many a times there could be cow's milk protein allergy in babies and lactose intolerance which could be severe sometimes. Also early introduction of cows milk can lead to iron deficiency anemia as cow's milkk. lacks iron and vit c . Also there could be micro bleeding in intestine because of the heavy protein of cow's milk .To start with cow's milk should be given than gradually you can shift to buffalo milk or a packet milk which is a mixture of two .

A. You can give it three times in the day four times in the day depending on to how many times you want to give milk to the child along with that three proper meals of breakfast lunch and dinner should also be a part of your child’s daily diet planWrite Your Answer Here
