Q.
Hello doctor my son 4.5yrs old he is suffering from tonsils I already consult a doctor said that my son got heavy tonsils suggested cefodoxime antibiotic, I used medicine but again and again he is suffering with tonsils, is there any other solutions because he just a kid I can't use so many times antibiotics please suggest any solution. please let me know do's and don'ts, what to eat and what to avoid thank you

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. many times adenoids and tonsils are enlarged due to recurrent viral or bacterial infections as well as in allergic cough and cold.
you have to just control recurrent cough and cold due to any of the reasons and the child will not have more than reasonable increase in size of adenoid and tonsils.
any surgical intervention is required only if the child is having difficulty in breathing as well as difficulty in swallowing and difficulty in sleeping at nifght.
many times nebulization as well as inhalation sprays are given to decrease the size and you can follow your doctor in this.
it is advisable to gfive flu vaccination to the child which will help in decreasing the chances of viral fever as well as viral cough and cold

Okay so my tonsils are a restriction on food also so you’ll have to follow that restriction for the time being because the throat is very sensitive because of tonsils secondly I would suggest you take a homoeopathic treatment or if you haven’t considered consulting an ENT doctor please go ahead with that as well because they have an expertise in the area to help you with
