A. At 4 months old, if you've noticed lice (nits or Louis) in your baby’s scalp, it's important to be gentle and avoid strong chemical treatments, as a baby’s skin is very sensitive. Instead of medicated shampoos, which are usually not recommended for infants under 2 years, you can use a mild, baby-safe shampoo like Sebamed Baby Shampoo or Cetaphil Baby Wash & Shampoo—these are gentle on the scalp and help keep it clean. To remove lice manually, use a soft, fine-toothed baby comb after washing her hair, preferably when it's damp. If the lice persist or worsen, consult a pediatrician before using any medicated treatment.
