if the consistency is hard and the child is having pain while passing stool it is considered as constipation.
give plenty of water and fibre diet to the child
it is important to give fibre diet from cereals pulses vegetables and fruits
avoid giving more than 400 ml milk everyday and avoid giving packet andx processed foods as well as biscuits and refined food
adding papaya , fennel seeds water , oats pear prunes pineapple banana kishmish to the regular diet will help in decreasing constipation
Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. constipation is common problem in children in which diet modification is important like including high fibres in the diet for which you can give seasonal fruits like papaya, watermelon and seasonal vegetables will also help , can give daliya or oatsmeal also .give more liquids.
giving excess of temilk may cause constipation too.also avoid banana which may aggravate .lactulose or polyethylene glycol is of good help,give any medicine or suppository only when prescribed.
