hello Doctor my daughter 3 years and 1 month is suffering from cough and running nose but she coughs( whopping cough) mostly during night time..She is taking doctors prescribed medicine but still her cough doesn't go...so please suggest me what should I do now to cure her cough..

Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fevfer is there paracetamol can be giveng to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

Sowmya MMom of 4 children3 years agoA. hello actually cough doesn't go easily it takes a little time to get rid of along with the proper medication you have to give some home remedies try to give turmeric during night time always give hot water to drink and also take ajwain leaf and those he leave and lightly just warm keep it on the hot pant and squeeze it adding honey drops to it
