Q.

hello doctor, my child is 4.5 year old.. he is suffering from allergic cough since 2_ -3 month.. doctor has prescribed levolin syrup, Lukahist.. but he has not cured completely. what to do, plz suggest

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant brugfonchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

A. Hi mom It can take few months to get rid of the allergy completely. so no need to worry. continue with the medicine prescribed by the doctor. It will be fine. Take care and all the best
