Q.

hello doctor.. my child is 11months old now.. my baby started sucking his thumb from 3months.. may I know how to stop thumb sucking..

A. my baby put hand finger & toes finger in her mouth is there any prblm in her...???

A. Thumb sucking in infants is a very normal phenomenon and its called mouthing reflex and nothing to be worried about it just maintain proper hygiene and with time this thing will go . In the toddlers thumb sucking habit is also seen many a times which could be phycological cause and feeling of insecurity or some stress . Just try to make the child comhfortable and divert in some activities also spend good timje with trhe child . In extreme case withdrawal can be tried with some solution available which are bitter like femite lotion . It needs to be applied locally .

A. thank you for reaching out to see this question please do not worry about thumb sucking is just the comfort zone for them what you can do best is destructive baby when she's trying to construct a toy or give something else to do and she will then not be thumb sucking anymore
