Q.

hello doctor. My baby is about to complete 4 months. His nose gets blocked and he makes sounds from nose while sleeping in ac. Normally under fan he is normal. What is d reason nd treatment??

A. If baby has symptoms of cough and cold it may last for few days or couple of weeks depending on the severity of infection which may be viral usually.at times may be allergic too. If there is fever above 99 Fahrenheit you need to give paracetamol 3 times a day to the child. In case of nasal congestion in cold you can give steam which is the best remedy as well as you can use nasomist saline drops many times in a day one drop in each nostril. In case of cough, the syrup is advised according to the type of cough (dry or productive)which needs to be examined before prescribing the medicine. If there are aggravated symptoms due to cough and cold ,any breathing difficulty the baby has dehydration and not taking feed properly g gka physical examination is important for which you should contact your treating pediatrician.
