Hello Doctor, My baby is 5 months old but still I didn't get my period yet. Is there any health check up required?

A. There is no need to get any health check up but if you had unprotected intercourse do a pregnancy test and when the pregnancy is ruled out make sure that you keep using contraception because the cycles may come at any time. A. Hi Mom The hormones in our body that are responsible for lactation interfere with the hormones responsible for menstruation. That's why till we are exclusively breastfeeding, chances are we will not have periods. As you withdraw breastfeeding gradually, the menstruation hormones shall start getting activated. My son is 4 months old and my periods have not started either.

A. Hello dear parent, post pregnancy , women may restart with their periods within a year. If you feel uncomfortable during that period,# then you must consult with your gynaecologist for proper examination and treatment. Good luck and take care
