hello doctor my baby is 3yrs old 3months suddenly her temperature got raised to 99.8 in the night then got controlled and again got raised to 101.2 in the afternoon so I gave her paracetamol...she frequently consumes lollipops... this could be the reason for sudden fever pls suggest me

A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initiallygk antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

Q. my bany is 7 months suddenly yesterday his forehead was hot i just checked temperature it was 98 i gave paracetamol drops baby was active and fine suddenly in the evening (5:30) temperature raised to 100. in evening or night entire morning no fever suddenly again at 5:30 pm temperature raised to 101. after 12 hrs fever raised. used paracetamol drop within 15 min boby got cool down this anything to worry ??
