A. Albendazole is usually given for deworming in children above 1 year, as recommended by doctors. The World Health Organization (WHO) and Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) suggest deworming every 6 months after 12 months of age, especially if the baby has symptoms like stomach pain, loss of appetite, itching around the anus, or worms in stool. For your 16-month-old baby, you can give Albendazole syrup (200 mg) as a single dose, but it’s best to consult a pediatrician before giving any medicine to ensure the correct dosage and need.
