Q.

hello doctor.. my 3year old son is having non stop hiccups from morning.. I am giving him water but still he is having non stop hiccups.. he slept for 2hrs inbetween.. again sometime after waking up he is having hiccup till this time 9pm..

A. hiccups in big children usually occur due to excessive laughing, belching, acidity as well as gas in the stomach and intestine of the child. it is important to give plenty of water to drink as well as easily digestible food made at home. diversion of the child also helps. it is self limiting problem and will decrease but if it is occurring again and again then it is advisable to complete a course of antacid. antacid will surely help

A. Hello dear parent! Gently rub your child’s back repeatedly. Get your child personally examined by the doctor and seek further advice. Keep giving sips of water in between. Maintain a good personal hygiene routine for your child
