Q.

Hello Doctor My 22 month also son coughing since yesterday we have given him Jrtorex ( Cough syrup) but he split out the same. he is coughing badly from the morning seems like he has cold as well please advise.

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine whhich should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose cajn be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

A. Hello mom In such case you should definitely consult with your paediatrician about it because your doctor can only advise you will after examining baby. Till the time you should avoid giving any sort of medication and first consult with your doctor about it then only give any
