Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. head banging in children is a common behavior where a child repeatedly hits their head against a surface, such as a wall or crib. this behavior can be concerning for parents, but it is typically seen in toddlers and can be a way for them to self-soothe or seek sensory stimulation. head banging is usually harmless and children often outgrow it. however, it's important for parents to monitor the behavior and address any underlying issues, such as teething discomfort, frustration, or anxiety. if head banging becomes frequent, severe, or causes injury, it's recommended to consult with a pediatrician to rule out any underlying medical or developmental concerns.
finger, thumb, hand, things insertion in the oral cavity is very normal at this stage and usually it is due to teething pain the child is experiencing along with inflammation and pain in the gums.
just maintain hygiene of the child finger as well as any type of things which goes inside the oral cavity and also try to maintain the hygiene of your finger when you are touching the hands of the child.
to decrease the teething pain you can press the gums of the child and if the child is very irritable and crying for pain you can give paracetamol also.
it is a self limiting habit axnd no treatment is required.
but if hygiene is not maintained then dirty things going inside the oral cavity can cause infection fever vomiting and loose motions.
