A. Dear mom, never put your baby on stomach to sleep as it sharply increases the risk of SIDS ( sudden infant death syndrome.) . please donot do this . when your little one sleeps on its stomach then she tends to breathe less air which causes this. it is always suggested to either put your baby on his back or side but never on stomach. please take caŕe of your little one. moreover, the gas problem remains for sometime like till 6 or 7 months then her digestion would be a lot improved. Till then , you may apply hing oil from mother sparsh , it is very effective. give hot compress on the stomach , you may give colic aid etc etc to soothe the baby. take proper diet which is healthy and light so that it doesnt cause gas to your baby like avoid spicy ,junk food.Enjoy motherhood.

A. No. Don't let your baby sleep on the stomach until one year of age. For colic, Try to keep the baby close to u and rest her on your chest and walk around comforting her tummy. Lay down the baby on her back and pedal her legs if in case there was any gas it will be released. Dim the lights, lessen the outside noise and be close to her, comforting her. The real cause of colic pain is unknown and differs with each baby . It will get away on its own as the baby grows. Usually colic pain comes around evenings or nights or at the same part of the day and for three to four days every week. You can understand that it is colic pain with the timing and the baby will be restless crying for long hours.. Few things you can do to prevent colic pain not altogether though. Feed the baby in an upright position do she doesn't swallow many air bubbles. burp her every time after feeds. Give small and frequent feeds.
