Q.

Hello Doctor, I am 35 weeks pregnant and as per the ultrasound conducted yesterday, my baby weight is 2.1kg . Doctor has asked for delivery at 37 weeks through induction of labour. Is it safe for the baby .. are there any chances for my baby to gain more weight before the delivery

A. If there are no high-risk factors, complicating pregnancy, only then you can wait until 40 weeks. If the doctor feels that there is any high-risk factor which can impact the mother or the baby then they will decide accordingly. Usually after 37 completed weeks the baby will have fully developed body organs and lungs
