Q.

Hello Doctor, Can you please tell me that how dangerous is having a hole in the heart of newborn baby? My doctor said that it will recover by itself nothing to worry about. Will my child be able to live a normal life if the hole recover by itself? My baby was only 18 days when we found 2.5 mm hole in his heart. Please help me with this.

A. Sometimes surgery is needed to repair the hole. Sometimes medications are prescribed to help treat symptoms. There are no known medications that can repair the hole. If a child is diagnosed with an atrial septal defect, the health care provider may want to monitor it for a while to see if the hole closes on its own.

A. Hello dear parent! There are chances of closing gradually. Just follow your doctor’s advice. Continue to exclusively breastfeed your baby well on demand for better health, nutrition and hydration. Keep Babyhug tummy roll on handy
