A. soft-cooked vegetables, such as broccoli, cauliflower, courgette, parsnip and sweet potato. carrot or cucumber sticks and avocado. fresh fruits, such as apple (soft-cooked if needed), banana or soft, ripe peeled pear or peach. toast, pitta or chapatti fingers.Begin with two to three spoonfuls of soft and mashed food four times a day, which will give her the nutrients she needs without breastmilk. From 6–8 months old, she'll need half a cup of soft food four times a day, plus a healthy snack.Your child can begin eating solid foods at about 6 months old. By the time he or she is 7 or 8 months old, your child can eat a variety of foods from different food groups. These foods include infant cereals, meat or other proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains, yogurts and cheeses, and more.
