Q.

Hello Can I eat bitter gourd(Karela) during pregnancy ?? I am in my 23rd week. Is it safe to eat it or should I avoid eating it ??

A. hi.. yes you can have it in moderation, which is power packed with nutrients but having it in moderation is the key during pregnancy. there is nothing to worry about the consumption

A. please avoid it. I had karela in my 6th month of pregnancy and I started bleeding. I had to rush to the hospital. But then again everybody's body is different. I would say don't risk it.

A. in known to induce uterine contraction which may cause miscarriage 8. labor13. Seeds of bitter gourd contain vicine which is known to cause favism in some individuals. proper diet is important, Have milk twice or thrice a day. It is a good source of calcium.. Have proper three meals day without skipping. Have more veggies and fruits everyday. Have nuts frequently and nuts milkshake. You may alos have any protein drink.
