Q.

Hai doctor my baby is 5 months 13 days old we are giving him D3 0.5 ml daily as per doctor advice when she was 3 months old whether we need to increase the dosage or 0.5 ml is enough the concentration of d3 is 800 IU

A. you have to continue Vitamin D3 supplement till you are not able to take the child in sunlight. if you are giving 400 units you have to give 1ml everyday and if you're girving 800 units you have to give 0.5 ml everyday. the thing is that you have to keep the child in sunlight for at least half an hour between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for proper vitamin D exposure. So if you are able to take the child in sunlight you can stop vitamin D supplement

A. yes can be given. .Breast feeding should be exclusively till 6 month of age. If not possible then only milk formula should be given. After that you can start with top feed along with cow milk .
