Good Morning doctor, My son Vairaj 2 months 20 days old is sneezing and coughing sometimes during day. Should we take him to doctor here by or is it ok? Can we give him any medication?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. cough and cold may be infective or allergic in cause.give steam to relieve nasal congestion which is of great help and nasoclear drops can also be used in nose multiple times. can also give sinarest drops .
cough syrup or nebulization should be given according to the type of cough and only under the guidance of your pediatrician .self medication is not recommended.
if the cough is productive give asthakind-ls. Usually due to the symptoms if the child is not showing interest in having food, give only simple home-made preparations as required, can give certain fruits like apple, papaya etc. ,child will start to eat as symptoms get resolved.
Due to seasonal chdanges or due to repeated exposure to the infective agent if the child is catching cold and cough repeatedly you need to develop good immunity by giving proper balanced diet and multi -vitamin supplements under medical guidance.

if it happens sometimes and if a child is showing no discomfort then no need to worry.
please offer plenty of breastfeeds.
it Contains antibodies which help your child to fight against viral or bacterial Infections.
dress your child in weather appropriate clothes
give Sunbath for 20 minutes a day
