Q.

Good morning Doctor. My son is 2 yrs 10 months old. He is a very early age speaker. But now a days it has been observed that sometimes he stammers when he speaks and the words and sentences are uttering sometimes. pls suggest what may be the reason for this. Please also note that this habit is not a frequent one and was not observed for a month few days ago....

A. it is very common that during the language development it can occur in the child but many times it is self limiting and will go away. sometimes it can get aggravated during the illness process and after that it becomes normal sometimes it may be associated with sudden stress on the body of the child which might be either psychological as well as developmental. if there is confusion it is advisable to take help of pediatrician and speech therapist

A. Developmental stuttering. This is the most common type of stuttering in children. It usually happens when a child is between ages 2 and 5. It may happen when a child's speech and language development lags behind what he or she needs or wants to say.
