good morning doctor, my daughter is 2.6 years and she has this finger sucking habits... of which she offen falls sick. plz suggest some solution for this... how to get rid of tis finger sucking and also some good health drink which can build her immune system..

A. once the baby completed 2 years, you can give him the milk supplememt like pediasure, junior Horlicks, Bournvita lil champ, enfagrow A+, complan Nutri gro, etc... Thumb sucking is common in this age. .. it give them sense of security and pacify and Sooothe them.... generally baby stops this habit by themselves by the age of 4-5 years.. but if continue beyond that then you should interfere... and try to remove this habit... if you want to remove this habit then.. you can just try to explain her that it is a bad habit.. give a explaination regarding this... just explain that it can lead to tummy ache or your teeth will fell down... etc.. just keep it short explaination . explain in simple words... generally the kids are more smarter than we give credit to them... they understand things more easily then we think so... so try to explain her.. also try to distract her whenever she put her thumb in the mouth... like start playing something with her hands and fingers like ringa ringa roses, finger family rhymes, or just simple start dancing with holding her hands... or just give her something to hold on... and play with... don't give her pacifier to remove this habit . this will be like jumping from one bad habit to another one...
