Loose motion are most of the time infective where it is associated with fever and vomiting andt its known as gaystroenteritis where symptomatic treatment along with management for dehydration is required if loose motions are associated with foul smell mucous high grade fever than it could be bacterial infection which needs antibiotics treatment

In some instances, it could be caused by other factors such as teething or foreign objects in the mouth. In rare cases, it could be an indicator of a problem. Make sure to consult a doctor.
