A. Prolactin levels during the initial 10 days of lactation have an average baseline of approximately 200 mg/dL with further increases to peak levels (400 ng/dL) after suckling. Baseline and peak levels subsequently decrease over the duration of lactation. Milk yield is not directly correlated to prolactin levels.
