ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist1 Year agoA. dear Mum, for your 6 months old baby, you can begin to give solid foods like porridges (like rice, Ragi, wheat flour , moong dal and rice flour mix) , kheer.
then dal-rice with vegetables, veg khichadi, soft mashed fruits, curd.
start with 3-4 tsp and then about half katori per meal about 2 to 3 meals per day.
give 1 food for about 3-6 days for baby to accept and to see how baby tolerates it then introduce another new food
abinayavMom of a 10 yr 3 m old boy1 Year agoA. I have started on 6 months. Initially, it can be difficult to know exactly how much solid food for a 6-month-old. You don’t really need a lot of solid food for your baby at this age. About 90 ml per feed twice a day should be enough to begin with. You can start with puree. But please begin with 1 tablespoon of apple puree, mixed with breast milk or formula, once a day. Gradually increase the amount to 2 tablespoons, twice a day, by day 2, and then to 3 tablespoons, twice a day, by day 3.And also note that if you are introducing any new food for the first time to your baby, then feed only 1-3 tsp of it in the morning.Doing this helps you to better understand whether your child is able to digest the food, ruling out the allergic reactions, and also you give time to your child's tummy to adjust new food. You can refer to My Little Moppet blog or their instagram page as I had started solids and weaned my baby with their guide.
