Q.

dr my baby is 6 months and 10 days old she is having cough and even lot of mucus. on drs prescription I have given her ascoril Is drops and refzil O but as such there is not much improvement. what shall I give her for cough kindly prescribe.

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitguussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. rif fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

A. Hi parent some home remedies keep a bowl of chopped onion near her bed approx three feet far over night take sunbathing daily with her head and ears covered in the morning please don't expose her to winds and dust. keep her well hydrated by giving her breast milk
