Q.

doctor my baby is 4 1/2 month old and she is demanding milk for every 2 hours sharp at day and night this starter from 3 1/2 months. from 2 1/2 months to 3 1/2 months she was sleeping for minimum 6 hrs at night and 3 hrs gap for milk demand at daytime. what should I do to avoid her demanding milk at night this frequency?

A. you have to give only demand feeding to the child that is whenever the child feels hungry you can give milk to the child and the child will take the milk according to the need and then will leave the milk. if the child is taking more milk you can offer milk in more quantity with intermittents burping . there is no need to to go for fixed feeding pattern. also there is no need to wake up the child from sleep if the weights of the child is within normal limits . also if the weight gain of the child every month is normal then no need to worry regarding the pattern of breastfeeding
