Do we have to express discharge from newborns nipples as my MIL told that expressing discharge from newborn's nipples is mandatory

No it is not mandatory it is once personal choice some people prefer doing it some people prefer not doing it the doctor say that you should not do it but as we go as per what traditionally family member do it doing it also not a harm and not doing is also not a harm but nothing is mandatory
