do lactogen 1 is good for baby or not and do it as any side effects or it is harmful please let me know as my son is 3 weeks I 'll give him lactogen as I have insufficient milk from myside

ExpertDr Bandana JoshiAyurvedic Physician7 years agoA. No Lactogen is not harmful, if your milk supply is low then you can start giving Lactogen without any thought. If you want to increase your milk supply, first of all you should focus on your diet, eat nutritious and balanced diet comprising of nuts, seeds, fruits, salads, green leafy vegetables, lentils. Drink plenty of liquids. Make sure you drink a glass of milk after feeding the baby to prepare your breast for next feed. Avoid taking stress as it lowers the milk supply. Take good rest. And start taking shatavari powder 2.5gms twice a day with a glass of warm milk.

exclusive breastfeeding is recommended for first six months after birth but if due to certain reasons breastfeeding is not possible you can consult with your doctor in person for appropriate formula milk.
lactogen , nan pro all are the options.
try to latch him more often this helps in increasing breast milk supply
skin to skin contact is necessary for stimulation of release of oxytocin and maintain good supply
