Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 11 m old boy5 years agoA. cradle cap also known as seborrheic dermatitis is also known as dandruff of small children which occurs due to fungal infection. you have to do daily shampoo of the hair of the child and maintain hygiene and do not apply any type of oil on the scalp of the child. the smell may be different from normal

shilpi BhandariMom of 4 children5 years agoA. no dear Cradle cap does not normally smell. If your baby has cradle cap and there is a sour smell, this may be a sign that there is a fungal infection that requires further treatment. If this is the case your health visitor or family doctor will be able to provide some advice if any special treatment is required.
