Q.

Dhruvika Chetry was born to a GDM mom on 36 weeks. She was given phototherapy twice.Her bilirubin level increases after phototherapy. She is now 21 days old and, her bilirubin is 15. Dr has given Phenobarbitone syrup. Should I go for phototherapy again?

A. there are different reasons for prolonged serum bilirubin in the newborn which needs appropriate investigations jfor further advice in this regard it is advisable to consult your doctor for physical examination and if there is need to do investigations also then only proper treatment can be given
