Dear Doctor What is difference between Dry cough & Wet cough? Please inform symptoms for both.

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 7 m old boy4 years agoA. normally when the child is coughing then in tricoff you will not be able to hear any respiratory sounds as well as secretion sounds while in the wet cough you will be able to hear the respiratory sounds and secretions but the final decision will be taken by the doctor after chest examination and throat examination

A dry cough does not bring up a mucus while a wet cough Moreover a dry cough is usually a gag reflex often caused if there is inflammation or irritation in the respiratory tract.on the other hand, wet cough is usually the result of the common cold or flu.

In Wet cough you will seek of coming out of the mouth sometimes use the congestion in the chest and when it is dry then you will not see any of these things it is coming out you just see the drying as your child is feeling in the drawer your child will keep coughing all the time but there will be no cough out of the system
