A. At 10 months old, you can start introducing meat and chicken to your baby's diet if you haven't already. Here are some guidelines and protein-rich foods you can consider: ### Introducing Meat and Chicken: 1. **Preparation**: Cook meat and chicken thoroughly until they are tender and easy to chew or puree. 2. **Texture**: Initially, you may want to puree or finely chop the meat/chicken to make it easier for your baby to eat. 3. **Variety**: Offer different types of meats such as chicken, turkey, beef, or lamb to provide a variety of flavors and nutrients. ### Other Protein Sources: 1. **Lentils and Legumes**: Cooked and mashed or pureed lentils, chickpeas, black beans, or kidney beans. 2. **Tofu**: Soft or silken tofu, cut into small pieces or mashed. 3. **Fish**: Cooked and flaked fish, ensuring it is deboned and finely chopped for safety. 4. **Eggs**: Cooked and mashed or scrambled eggs (ensure they are fully cooked). ### General Feeding Tips: - **Gradual Introduction**: Introduce new foods one at a time to monitor for any allergic reactions. - **Texture Progression**: As your baby gets older, gradually increase the texture of foods to encourage chewing and self-feeding. - **Nutrient-Rich Diet**: Alongside protein, continue to offer a variety of fruits, vegetables, and grains to ensure a balanced diet. Always consult your pediatrician before introducing new foods, especially potential allergens like eggs and certain types of fish. They can provide guidance based on your baby's individual development and dietary needs.
