Can we do oil massage while baby is suffering from cold and cough?

ExpertDr.Rasika ThosarPaediatric Intensivist7 years agoA. yes you can but limit massage time and do it in a warm room. avoid cold climate, cold winds. give plenty of feeds , adequate rest to the baby. indirect steam , hot water bath will also help. consult your paediatrician if baby is feeding less, excessively drowsy or if cold increases. post illness babies might be cranky , irritable. nose block congestion also result in loss of appetite, difficult sucking. try different head up feeding position. feed by spoon otherwise. Maintain hygiene. if bottle feeding, maintain sterility as its a common source of infections.

Himalays, Johnson, chicoo, mamaearth, dabur lal tail, are better option. Bath ur baby every day before bath Once a day massage is suficient for small babies.

NikithaMom of a 11 yr 4 m old child7 years agoA. hello...yes you can do...but make sure you heat the oil and then apply it...don't apply the hit one...let it cool down a lil them may be you can apply...use mustard oil it helps for cold n cough tii
