can teething cause fever up-to 102 ?

ExpertDr. Hemendra GuptaPaediatrician7 years agoA. no it's not true . teething will not cause and fever. though it causes a little bit of pain and irritability but fever because of teething is not there. its usually secondary to some viral infections or some bacterial infection.

But the fever is usually mild If temperature is above 100 degree f, it could be some infection better to consult Paediatrician a clinical examination is necessary for appropriate diagnosis and treatment Hope this information helped

ExpertDr.Rasika ThosarPaediatric Intensivist7 years agoA. no it will not. ust feed well. wear comfortable clothing. do sponging with water at normal temperature, not too cold. it helps in taking temperature down. do not give medications without prescriptions. consult your doctor in case of persistent fever, poor oral intake, excessively sleepy child.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaFather of a 12 yr 9 m old boy7 years agoA. actually it is not teething that causes fever during teething when the child tries to put everything in mouth so because of that infection get introduced inside by the unhygienic things because of that there could be some stomach infection leading to fever and diarrhoea

s madaanMom of a 10 yr 2 m old girl7 years agoA. no not at all you should check my the doctor for the same because it could be viral infection in baby and please do not over look this because suffering with fever will cause the baby to be irritated for longer
