A. At this stage, start with water intake in small amounts. Continue your breastfeeding, as before. Just include some other liquid diet, instead of one to two breastfeeds and slowly reduce the breastfeeding, . Just take care that all the items you are giving should be mostly in liquid form and very few times semisolid form, to avoid indigestion and constipation in baby. And food should be warm and freshly cooked each time. After few months slowly shift on to solid form of food.

A. Please start with semi solids like cerelac initially and later shift to sheera of aata or suji. For cerelac the routine is that you have to start with rice cerelac for 2 weeks and then shift to wheat cerelac for a month. Later once your little one is 7 months of age you can go for boiled apples and then mash them. However do not completely get rid bm. Milk is essential part of your child's diet.Apart this fruits like bananas, chikoos and papayas when mashed properly cam be introduced to the baby. You may also go for experimenting with milk like make suji milk. All you have to do is just add a tablespoon of suji that's roasted in a tablespoon of ghee in a bowl of milk. Bring it to a boil. Once the boil comes and milk starts getting cerelac like consistency then turn off the flame and add sugar as per taste. Serve warm. In case you want you may add roohafza or rose syrup to give a twist in the flavour. It actually turns out to be a hit amongst babies. Also post 6 months of age fruits should be given during afternoon as digestion is easy during that time. For night time post 6 months of age go for semi solids like mashed potatoes or sheera.
