ExpertDr. Swapnil SaxenaAyurvedic Physician7 years agoA. hi avoid putting oil in your nose Can start massaging about 15 days after birth when umbilical cord stub is shed. Once a day massage for 15 to 20 minutes is sufficient. Rest depends on your choice, you can give one more time before putting your baby to sleep Use oils like virgin coconut oil or almond oil or olive oil during winter Massaging builds up a bond with your baby. It’s good to tone and strengthen the muscles. Relaxes the body and helps baby sleep better . Massaging improves the blood circulation and decreases the discomfort by gases and congestion too. Massage baby when he is well rested and taken meal atleast 30 minutes prior up the massage time. Massage legs and hands in gently squeezing in downward motion. In palms and soles in a gentle circular motion. Rotate the wrist and ankle a few times in both clockwise and anti clockwise direction. On chest from inward to outward direction by your palms . For stomach it has to be more gentle . Make circular strokes around belly button . Make baby lie in his tummy and massage his back. Keep both palms on back and move back and forth from neck to buttocks. Massage shoulders and buttocks in gentle circular motion.

SantoMom of a 8 yr 7 m old girl7 years agoA. Pl cover ear and nose. Massage everyday before bath. This will help. You can use oils like nalpamaradhi thailam or coconut oil or almond oil. Give a good massage for 5-10 mins then give a bath. Avoid for eye are also avoid masages duirng cold weather.
