A. Yes—you can use wipes to clean a baby’s private parts, but it’s important to choose and use them carefully. What’s safe Use baby wipes that are fragrance-free, alcohol-free, and hypoallergenic Look for labels like “for sensitive skin” or “dermatologically tested” Good quality wipes are generally safe for daily diaper changes How to use properly For baby girls: always wipe front to back to avoid infection For baby boys: gently clean around the area; don’t forcefully retract foreskin Be gentle—don’t rub harshly Let the area dry before putting a new diaper When to be extra careful If your baby has rash, redness, or irritation, switch to: Soft cotton + warm water Or plain water wipes Avoid wipes with strong smell or chemicals—they can cause irritation
