A. At 6 months, you can start introducing solid foods to your baby, including fruits. However, it's important to introduce them one at a time and watch for any allergic reactions. Here are some fruits that are generally safe for a 6-month-old: 1. Apple: Puree or steam apples to make them soft and easy to digest. 2. Banana: Soft, mashed bananas are great for babies, as they are easy to digest and rich in potassium. 3. Pear: Pears are gentle on the stomach. Steam or puree them to make them easier for your baby to eat. 4. Peach: Softened and pureed peaches can be introduced. 5. Avocado: This creamy fruit is rich in healthy fats and can be mashed for easy consumption. 6. Plum: Puree or mash plums to make them easy for your baby. Fruits to avoid at 6 months: 1. Citrus fruits (like oranges, lemons, and grapefruits) can be a little too acidic for a young baby. 2. Berries (like strawberries, raspberries) are often allergenic, so they should be introduced after a few months of other solids. 3. Cherries can be a choking hazard and should be avoided until your baby can chew more effectively. Remember to introduce one fruit at a time and wait 3-4 days before introducing a new one. Always ensure the fruit is appropriately prepared (peeled, mashed, or pureed) for the baby’s age and developmental stage. If in doubt, consult your pediatrician for personalized advice.
