can I give makhana to my 2 year old. is there any risk of choking with makhana, like it is with peanuts and popcorn?

Q. Hi my son is now 2 years old. In Diwali time, he was suffer from cold and fever due to which he lost his weight. Dr suggested some health drinks and makhana as healthy snacks to give. Pls anyone suggest how can I give makhana to my son? means plain makhana or masala makhana or can I give makhana available in market as ready to eat snacks? Thank you so much in advance!!
